Today we see ANOTHER suicide in the news. This was something I wrote before Borderline UK that was specific to my experience but today I adapted it to share because the more suicides reported, the more I realise it’s a real problem, Borderline or not, and the ignorance and stigma around suicide is SO real. Can we start a conversation already and stop judging everyone?! Suicidal thoughts and attempts need HELP not fkn judgement PLEASE. If you know someone who is low, depressed or suicidal reach out, ask them to talk about it, find out if you can do anything to help or just be there and available to talk/see them because you’re not doing any good when you’re writing RIP on your social media when they’re gone. I grew up thinking wanting to kill yourself was normal and didn’t know that I should be asking for help. When I tried to talk about it I was shamed and feared into silence. I was 16 the first time I tried to take my own life PLEASE let’s teach our children and help all those of any age to know that they’re NOT alone because suicide is devastating and tragic and horrible. I cannot talk about this subject enough. Normalise & encourage these conversations not stigmatise and discourage them.
