Today is 10th September, which is World Suicide Prevention Day 🌍
Suicide is the biggest killer amongst 15-45 year olds in developed countries, such as the U.K., US and Australia. It takes more young people’s lives than cancer, heart disease, drugs, diabetes, and car crashes.
In 2017, there were 6,213 reported suicides in the U.K. and Southern Ireland alone. And every 40 seconds, someone worldwide takes their own life.
We all matter so much to somebody. I can guarantee that even if you don’t think you do, you are so important to somebody’s life. Please please keep on going and please reach out for help if you feel you are having suicidal thoughts. The same goes the other way around, if you have a friend or family member that has gone quiet, is acting differently, please please reach out to them. Even just a simple text message to ask how they are or if they need any help. Your actions could be live saving.
Suicide is a very real thing and is taking too many lives. Lives of people that are missed so dearly (continued in comments)…
