Repost @lovelifeandtherapy – It’s so easy for us to call ourselves all sorts of negative and horrible things. It’s easy for us to beat ourselves up for not being as good as we perceive other people to be. It’s easy for us to believe all of those negative things we say and to retreat back into ourselves because we think others will reject us if we show our true self. .
Be aware of how you speak to yourself. Would you speak to your best friend or a child in the same way as you speak to yourself? Would you use those words? Would you use that tone of voice? .
If you reach the conclusion that you wouldn’t put someone else down like you do yourself then it’s worth spending some time changing this.
