When we feel a “negative” emotion, of course we dont enjoy it… sometimes we just want it to go away!
However when we try to block or push these things away, just like trying to hold a beach ball underwater, they POP up somewhere else. .
What would it be like if instead of trying to stop, get rid of these emotions, we treated them as handy little messengers. Sent to give us a signal. .
Maybe anger is trying to tell you about a value or a boundary of yours that is compromised.
Maybe sadness would like you to give love, self-care and compassion to yourself.
Maybe stress is tapping you on the shoulder telling you to slow down, say no to some things, put yourself and your health first… and so on. .
So let’s welcome our emotions. They are normal. They are all okay and part of life. .
